My work colleagues moan at me as I hate their choices of Mariah Carey / Whitney / Celine Dion as their perpetual choice of background music, today they said it’s your choice, so i put this on.
The first composition that I heard by the Happy Flowers was WIRE BRUSH. I heard WIRE BRUSH, perhaps in the year 1988, when I was driving to work. At the time, I was doing laboratory research on vitamins at U.C. Berkeley, and I was listening to U.C. Berkeley's radio station (KALX RADIO). Is that anything else from that time era that I listened to, that was similar to HAPPY FLOWERS? YES, I think so. Some of the compositions by industrial rock band SKINNY PUPPY, are similar (in a way) to HAPPY FLOWERS. In particular, I love HARSH STONE WHITE by SKINNY PUPPY. Also, some of the compositions by KILLING JOKE will be tolerated (or even loved) by people who like HAPPY FLOWERS. I saw KILLING JOKE perform on August 1982 at Merlyn's in Madison, Wisconsin. Compositions by KILLING JOKE that I like the most include, INSIDE THE TERMITE MOUND, REQUIEM, WARDANCE, and MADNESS. Also, I love Killing Joke's BRIGHTER THAN A THOUSAND SUNS (this album is almost like ambient music . . . all the compositions here are gentle).
Between this epic and “If it was broken, you’d be screaming”, we had a lot to laugh at in high school. And back then, it was still ok to laugh at GG Alins music. Lol
I like to think this is written from the cat’s perspective. The cat is just sat there listening to the kid screaming while the walls are melting and the carpet bleeds.
